When the Hayling Island skate park was declared unsafe for use by the local council with no plans to replace it, the community banded together to raise funds for a new and improved one to be built in its place. One of our key focuses at the Foundation is the wellbeing of people – so investing in the young (and old!) people in the area in this way was an easy choice. The skate park will provide a fun and safe space for the skating community to spend their time and meet new friends.

From start to finish this project was a huge community effort and really showed what was possible when enough people come together for a common goal. In July 2021 the organisers hosted a Skate Jam at the site of the skatepark to help raise funds and awareness. Lydia and Jodie were in attendance with the FatFace Foundation gazebo and had an absolute blast!

It’s here!

After 3 years of planning, fundraising and action the brand new Hayling Island skatepark is complete and is already in use! We look forward to seeing how the community, especially the young people within it, thrive thanks to the huge effort of the project organisers.
