One Warm Coat updates

Since 2021 our US FatFace locations have partnered with One Warm Coat to spread warmth to their communities during the holiday season. In 2023, we branched further north as a brand and welcomed our teams in the Canada market making this a North American effort!
Who is One Warm Coat?

One Warm Coat is a National Non-Profit that provides free coats to children and adults in need while promoting volunteerism and environmental sustainability. For 32 years, One Warm Coat has been providing coats to people in need across all 50 states through an extensive network of 1,500 local nonprofit organizations. To date, more than 50,000 individuals and organizations have held coat drives in communities across the country, collecting over 8 million coats. In addition, One Warm Coat’s focus on fashion circularity and reducing textile waste is keeping millions of pounds of textiles out of landfills each year.

One Warm Coat supports individuals, groups, companies, and organizations by providing the tools and resources needed to hold a successful coat drive. Coats are distributed in the communities where they are collected, to any person in need, without charge or discrimination. Through the Coat Drive Program, every $1 donated warms 1 person.

Coats, jeans, and dresses take the most carbon to produce. In the US, clothes are only worn for around a quarter of the global average with nearly 60% of all clothing, or 3 in 5 garments, ending up in landfills or incinerated every year. If each item of clothing was worn twice as many times, greenhouse gas emission would be 44% lower. 

2024 Winter update

The spirit of giving was present and thriving as the One Warm Coat partnership entered its fourth year in the U.S. and its second year with Canada joining in on the effort, making it a unified North American initiative! With the generous $15,000 sponsorship from the FatFace Foundation, and all 23 stores participating, this campaign is truly making a tangible impact. Every coat collected goes directly back into local communities, ensuring that those in need can stay warm this season. The dedication of the stores is inspiring, with each one coming up with creative new ways to rally support and bring in more coats. From inventive fundraising ideas to heartfelt community involvement, it’s clear that this initiative is growing stronger year after year.
 

2024 was another incredible year for One Warm Coat x Fatface, with $1,619 in donations from North American stores, and 554 coats donated! In the last four years of the campaign, in total, there have been 2,236 coats donated to those in need! The One Warm Coat drive is more than just an annual event; it’s a testament to the power of community, compassion, and collaboration, and there’s no doubt that even more success lies ahead as we continue to work together toward a warmer, kinder world. 

Winter 2023 update

FatFace and the FatFace Foundation are proud to be supporting One Warm Coat again this year to help them in their mission to provide free coats to children and adults across the USA. If you’re local to a US FatFace store, you can donate any new or gently worn coats between 17th Oct and 24th Dec 2023 and receive 15% off your in-store purchase. The FatFace Foundation has donated $15,000 this winter to help #sharethewarmth

Since 2021, our teams have collected 1,678 coats and raised $2,919 in monetary donations! With those results alone, almost 4,600 children and adults were provided warmth. Not only were the teams able to make a difference to the lives of those in need, but they’ve also kept over 3,300lbs of textiles out of landfills!

We are thankful for our store’s continuous efforts supporting this cause and their communities.

The Foundation has proudly donated $27,500 to One Warm Coat since 2021 to support One Warm Coats mission of sharing warmth, encouraging volunteerism and environmental sustainability.
